Pip holds a Bachelor of Midwifery from The University of Manchester where she graduated in 2017 after 3 years of training. She then spent 9 years working as an NHS midwife, first at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and then at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, before moving into independent practice. She is NMC registered (PIN: 17G3046E) and fully insured.
She absolutely adores her job and feels it is an honour and a privilege to be a midwife; so much so that it doesn’t really feel like a job, it’s a vocation and part of who she is. She is passionate about providing midwifery care that is holistic, individualised and evidence based. Her particular interests are birth trauma, physiological birth and antenatal education.
She is a mother to three young boys and has had 3 very different and eventful pregnancy and birth experiences with each of them (including fertility struggles, gestational diabetes, ‘big babies’, transverse and breech presentation, homebirths, and an emergency caesarean – so she’s pretty much covered all bases!) Crucially, she experienced the transformative effect of feeling safe, supported and seen during her own births and this had a profound effect on the way she now cares for others.
The crux of Pip’s ethos as a midwife is that she really believes in the physiological process. She trusts you, she trusts your ability to grow and birth your baby and she trusts your choices. It is her privilege to walk alongside women and their families during their pregnancy, birth and postnatal journeys. You won’t find her pushing any agenda onto you, rather, she quietly walks beside you as you take your chosen path, offering gentle encouragement and support along the way.
